4. How can I support my Professional and Scientific (P&S) staff member's career growth?
Refer to My Career at Iowa or the Career Development Planning site to help you understand more about the intersection of organizational needs and individual interests.
To explore career development opportunities, you can use the Job Classification View Tool, available in Self Service > Administration > HR Inquiry. The tool allows you to review the key areas of responsibility and competencies for a job classification and compare them to other classifications within the job family, providing an easy way to view differences in responsibilities and abilities among classifications. This helps determine what has or might change within an individual's job classification.
The Career Pathways Mapping is a useful tool designed to empower employees, supervisors, and HR representatives by visualizing career progression within the P&S job families.
