1. What is an outgoing subaward?
The University of Iowa issues outgoing subawards when another institution or organization performs a portion of the substantive programmatic work under a sponsored project.
Sponsors typically have specific requirements related to:
- Including subawards in proposal submissions (e.g., subaward budgets, scope of work, letter of intent, compliance requirements).
- Requesting sponsor approval or providing notice when adding or modifying subawards after a project is funded.
Refer to the specific notice of funding opportunity or notice of award, grant, or contract to identify sponsor requirements.
2. Whom can I contact for help?
For assistance with subaward requirements, processes, or other questions, contact the Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) at dsp@uiowa.edu or refer to the DSP Staff Directory.
See also Subawards and Subcontracts from the University of Iowa for general information and instructions.
