1. What support is available if I have questions about the performance review process, conducting a review, or working to develop a staff member's performance?
Several performance management resources are available to supervisors and staff members, including:
- just-in-time coaching,
- workplace consultations, online resources, and
- instructor-led courses and series.
Use the new performance review guides for staff members and supervisors.
2. What if I am experiencing challenges with my staff?
Contact your HR unit representative for assistance. Additional resources include:
- Employee and Labor Relations provides consultation on performance improvement strategies, clarification of expectations, investigations, and discipline. Contact at:

- The Office of the Ombudsperson provides informal conflict resolution, mediation services, and advocacy for fair treatment and fair process.
- Conflict Management at Iowa is available as a resource.
